COLLEGE DUX – RODRIGO VIEGAS CATARINO
Congratulations to our 2024 School DUX Rodrigo Viegas Catarino, achieving an incredible ATAR of 97.10! Rodrigo, from our General Excellence program, plans to pursue a career in Law—a path that reflects his dedication and intellect.
Rodrigo’s favourite subject this year was Literature, and he credits Ms. Gillian Neumann as his most inspiring teacher.
On behalf of everyone at RSC we want to congratulate you on your outstanding achievement as our School Dux! We are immensely proud of Rodrigo and wish him every success in his bright future ahead!
Here is our interview with Rodrigo.
1. How are you feeling about your ATAR?
Upon receiving my ATAR result I was flooded with a great sense of accomplishment, as it proved that all the work that I have done throughout all of high school, especially in Year 12, was recognised and all worth it.
2. What are your future goals?
My future goal is to pursue further education at the University of Melbourne where I will continue to dedicate my efforts to study law.
3. Is there anyone you’d like to thank at RSC?
I would like to thank all my teachers throughout my time at RSC, especially those that I had in Year 12, because with their dedication and support I was able to grow into the person that I am today and achieve these results.
4. What is the best thing about going to school at RSC?
The best thing about going to school at RSC is that you are always surrounded by supportive and encouraging teachers that work their hardest to give the best education they have to offer and allow your best self to shine through.
5. Do you have any advice for current students and how they can achieve their goals.
My advice for current students is to find a balance between studying and everything else that goes on in your life. Although maintaining a strong work ethic is incredibly important, without breaks, socialising, and simply having fun, the whole year may become overwhelming. Through this balance is how I was able to maintain on top of all my SACs and exams but also ensure that I will not burnout and be able to continue to strive towards my goals.
