Formula One Australian Racing Driver, Grand Prix winner, Daniel Ricciardo visited the Rowville Secondary College West Campus a day before the 2023 Grand Prix. Ambassador for Hands On Learning, Daniel visited our college Hands On Learning program and joined in with their morning tasks including setting their learning intentions for the day, helping build a pizza oven and cementing bricks, and eating breakfast cooked by our awe-struck students. Wearing the RSC Hands On Learning hoodie, Daniel answered questions by our students and shared his love of racing and how he got into it. Daniel was a super lovely guy and very happy to take photos with our excited students and staff. Thank you for joining us, Daniel, it was a massive highlight for everyone who was absolutely buzzing afterwards.
Hands On Learning is a Save the Children practical school program that builds wellbeing, engagement, and attendance by creating opportunities for students (Years 8 to 10) to discover their talents and experience success through significant and authentic hands-on projects.
“It’s fun. We do so much. It’s teaching me productivity, using your initiative, it teaches you to learn things without realising.”
